What are CBD, CBG, and CBN?

Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a chemical compound extracted from the hemp plant. Unlike its cousin THC, CBD is not psychoactive, so it will not produce a mind-altering effect. For safety reasons, we recommend only purchasing third party tested CBD, such as Broad Spectrum Health Center’s products, for quality assurance.

Cannabigerol, CBG for short, is also extracted from the hemp plant and has many benefits. It is one of the best anti-inflammatories and also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. CBG is our go-to natural ingredient in all of our pain relief products due to its success in relieving extreme pains and reducing inflammation.

CBN, also known as cannabinol, is nature’s greatest sleep aid. This natural ingredient may improve your sleep and even relieve spasms. We love to pair CBN with melatonin to give our customers the best sleep they’ve ever had.

What is the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

Hemp and marijuana are similar but regulated very differently. In terms of appearance, the hemp plant is skimpy and may resemble bamboo, while the cannabis plant is bushy and full. Legally, hemp may only be grown and sold if it contains less than .3% THC while there is no maximum percentage for legal cannabis. Most importantly, it is crucial to know that CBD from hemp is not psychoactive and will not alter your mind as cannabis would.

Will CBD interact with my other medications?

CBD works differently for everyone, and it is not as simple as height, weight, or gender. CBD is a natural product, but to be safe, always consult your physician before consuming CBD or any new supplements.

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are all the chemical compounds found in the hemp plant. They work by connecting to specific endocannabinoid receptors, which are found all throughout the human body.

Will I get high?

No. CBD is nonpsychoactive, meaning it will not cause euphoria, intoxication, or any affect on mental processes.

Are CBD, CBG, and CBN legal?

Yes. Buying CBD, CBG, and CBN is federally legal as long as the products contain less than .3% THC. Some state laws put restrictions on buyers, so be sure to check your state laws.

What is the difference in isolate, broad spectrum, & full spectrum?

There are 3 main phrases used when referring to CBD: isolate, broad spectrum, and full spectrum. Getting isolate CBD is the longest of the three processes because it breaks down the entire plant until CBD is the only cannabinoid present. Broad spectrum CBD is the entire hemp plant with the exception of THC. Full spectrum products contain all cannabinoids from the hemp plant, which may include the legal limit of THC. The visuals above give a great representation of what these phrases mean.

Will I fail a drug test if I take CBD, CBG, or CBN products?

No, especially not if you consume an isolate or broad spectrum product. It is possible, but unlikely to test positive for THC when using a full spectrum CBD, CBG, or CBN product. All of our products contain .3% or less THC, the legal limit, but if it is crucial to pass a drug test, we recommend sticking with isolate or broad spectrum products!

Do your products have THC in them?

We do carry full spectrum CBD products, which contain .3% or less THC, which is the legal limit. With this, the potency will NOT get you high or have any effect on your mental processes. Check the descriptions of our products or contact us to see which products fit your criteria!

Do CBD, CBG, or CBN cause side effects?

CBD, CBG, and CBN are very well-tolerated in most people, but there have been a few reports of side effects like drowsiness and decreased appetite. We recommend contacting your doctor if you are pregnant, nursing, or on other medications.

What is the Entourage effect?

This is the theory that when you combine CBD and THC together, they provide a better effect than when taken alone. Our full spectrum products may produce this effect.

Can CBD help my dog's anxiety?

Short answer: Yes. CBD may also help your pet with many other things as well, such as: loneliness, anxiety in group settings, fear of fireworks or storms, trouble sleeping, etc.
